Okay, I know it has been a while since I posted, but maybe I will be better at this. For all of you that follow Beth Moore's blog, she has asked us to commit to memorizing a scripture verse twice a month. At the end of 2009 we will have memorized 24 verses. Isn't that great! NIV: James 4:3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with the wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

Isn't this a great verse to start off the new year. Lord, help me to commit this verse to memory. So many times I ask for things because I want them for my pleasure, not for your will. Lord, help me to keep my motives pure. Thank you that you with hold things I ask for because you know that I don't really need them. Lord, help me not to be selfish this year.
